About ETCC and EVCC

Under the direction of Jane DeLoach Morison, the East Tennessee Children’s Choir (ETCC) and Emory Virginia Children’s Choir (EVCC) provide children in grades 4 and up with a quality education in music and healthy vocal technique. The choirs are dedicated to singing high quality choral repertoire from throughout history and around the globe. Singers receive a strong foundation in healthy choral technique, music literacy, solfege, and part singing. Most importantly, we wish to instill a love and passion for singing and musical excellence that will encourage a lifelong participation in the arts.

ETCC and EVCC consist of children from at least 30 different communities in the Mountain Empire, representing more than 40 schools, private, public and home. It is open to children of all cultures and belief systems, as well as those who are economically, physically and/or mentally challenged. A tuition assistance program is available.

What We Do

The choirs performs at least three public concerts annually plus special performances at the Biltmore Estate and other collaborations with various arts organizations. 

ETCC and EVCC regularly collaborate with many other choirs and orchestras throughout the region, nation, and globe and have performed in venues as diverse as the Johnson City Public Library, the Bristol Motor Speedway, and Carnegie Hall.

Rehearsals

East Tennessee Children's Choir
  • Rehearses on Mondays from 4:00-5:30pm throughout the school year at Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church in Johnson City

Emory Virginia Children's Choir
  • Rehearses on Thursdays from 4:15–5:45 throughout the school year on the Emory & Henry College campus
